Reaching its 11th edition this year, the Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo ("MITE" or the "Expo") continues playing an enhancer for tourism industry exchange worldwide, standing as an influential and professional travel expo on the international stage.
Macao has removed travel restrictions and welcomes visitors from worldwide once again in 2023, a year brimming with great significance for the tourism sector. We anticipate this exciting occasion when stakeholders come from the tourism and related sectors near and afar to exchange, connect and create new possibilities of cooperation at the Expo.
With an unyielding commitment, the Expo gives play to Macao's strengths as a platform and the city's unique cultural symphony between China and Portugal. Gathering industry operators from different cities, we hope to join hands with all to promote regional and international tourism cooperation and tap the potential of different tourism markets. MITE aims to become a powerhouse of tourism and other related sectors, where new partnerships flourish in diversity and the synergy deepens between tourism, culture and creativity, gastronomy and other industries. The event goes in sync with the Macao SAR Government's development strategy of "1+4" adequate diversification, and the vision to enrich Macao's offer as a world centre of tourism and leisure.
My heartfelt appreciation goes to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China for the enormous support, the coordinator Macau Travel Agency Association for the unwavering dedication as well as our co-organizers and collaborative partners for the concerted effort. Thank you for being the reason the Expo has not ceased shining through the pandemic.
